ASME Reinforced Thermoset Plastic (RTP) Corrosion-Resistant Equipment Certification is a company level certification of a fabricator's quality control system in accordance with the ASME RTP-1 standard "Reinforced Thermoset Plastic Corrosion-Resistant Equipment". The standard applies to stationary vessels used for the storage, accumulation, or processing of corrosive or other substances at pressures not exceeding 15 psig external and/or 15 psig internal. This certification is intended for companies who manufacture reinforced thermosetting plastic storage tanks and process vessels for holding corrosive and otherwise hazardous materials used in a variety of industries, including chemical processing, water and wastewater, metal and mining, electronics, power generating, and oil and gas production. Certification entails a review/survey of a company's quality manual and implementation of their quality program. The review/survey is performed by two ASME consultants experience in the field of quality assurance.
