ASME BPVC Definition
ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Certification is a company level certification of a manufacturer's or assembler's quality control system in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) Sections I, IV, VIII, X, and/or XII.
This certification is for companies who are involved in the design, fabrication, assembly, and inspection of boiler and pressure vessel components during construction. Pressure equipment includes products such as power boilers, heating boilers, pressure vessels, fiber-reinforced plastic vessels, transport tanks and valves.
Certification entails a review/survey of a company's quality manual and implementation of their quality program. The review/survey is performed by inspection agencies authorized by ASME.
