RC14001:2005 Image
RC14001:2005 is a company level certification based on a standard that includes all of the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 as well as the requirements of the Responsible Care code. The American Chemistry Council developed an Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHS&S) performance improvement initiative. This standard has now been revised by RC14001:2008.

This certification is appropriate for chemical manufacturing companies.

Certifications are issued by third party certifying bodies. Generally, the certifying body will do an initial assessment that includes a site visit and documentation review. Once the assessment is complete and if the assessor recommends the organization for registration, a certificate will be issued. Annual or regularly scheduled assessments will then be conducted to verify continued compliance.
