Other Certification/Registration SFI Definitions
The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) is an independent non-profit organization that promotes sustainable forest management and fiber procurement. The SFI creates forest certification and fiber-sourcing standards as well as chain-of-custody practices. The SFI membership body consists of 18 individuals on the Board of Directors that represent three interest groups: environmental, economic, and social. Board members include forest owners, public officials and representatives from environmental, conservation, professional and academic groups. SFI issues three standards every five years after a public review process.
SFI 2010-2014
SFI 2010-2014 is a company level international certification based on a standard developed and published by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative. SFI 2010-2014 certification is intended for organizations that own forest land only, own forest land and manufacturing facilities, or own manufacturing facilities only. Certifications are issued by SFI-accredited third-party certification bodies. Additional Information
SFI 2015-2019 Certified Sourcing Label
The SFI 2015-2019 Certified Sourcing Label is a company-level certification based on a standard developed and published by the Sustainable Forest Initiative. Primary and secondary producers are eligible for the Certified Sourcing Label when their raw materials are obtained from any of the following certified sources: SFI 2015-2019 Fiber Sourcing certified fiber, pre- and post-consumer recycled content, certified forest content, and/or non-controversial sources. In order to use the label, an organization must meet the requirements of the Certified Sourcing standard and be independently certified by an accredited certification body. Additional Information

SFI 2015-2019 Chain-of-Custody Standard is a company level certification based on a standard developed and published by the Sustainable Forest Initiative. The SFI Chain of Custody Certification is intended for any organization that sources, processes, manufactures, handles, trades, converts or prints forest-based products. SFI Chain-of-Custody
SFI Chain-of-Custody is a company level certification based on a standard developed and published by the Sustainable Forest Initiative. SFI Chain-of-Custody certification is intended for any organization involved in harvesting, transporting, handling or processing forest-based products at any stage from a forest to a final consumer.
